Degreasing of skin

At tanneries acid and alkaline agents are often used, that in interaction with organic substances and chrome form stable emulsions and compounds containing  hexavalent chrome. The use of degreaser IDC “EFFECT” for washing and degreasing operations reduces phenol-formaldehydes concentration and hydrocarbon (organic phase)  separation.

In sewage water and industrial effluents of enterprises using IDC “EFFECT”, heavy-metal ions, chrome and its derivatives are  bound and their concentration is reduced, hence the use of IDC “EFFECT” solves the problem of hexavalent chrome utilization. .

The results demonstrate that the use of IDC “EFFECT” detergent instead of surface-active reagents allows to reduce fat content in pigskin leather treatment from 23.5% to 0.5%. As permissible content of natural fat in chrome-tanned semi-finished products must not exceed 2.0%,  this material consumption in pre-tanning and tanning processes can be reduced (additional control of fat content is needed after splitting and decalcification).

The result of the degreasing process is semi-finished product similar in quality to Morocco leather. When using traditional detergents in fur finishing operations hair is considerably soiled, mainly by fatty substances. With the use of IDC “EFFECT” fat enveloping hair surface is removed in the leather degreasing process and additional operations for hair surface degreasing are not needed.
